[HGUC] Delta Gundam Unit 2 [Event Limited] Review

Yes! Well then!
This time, we’ll be reviewing the Delta Gundam Unit 2 from HGUC!

From “Mobile Suit Z Gundam ,” the red Delta Gundam “Delta Gundam Unit 2” presented by Anaheim to Karaba has appeared as an event-limited Gunpla HGUC, so we would like to review it!

Assembly instructions are included in color.

  • Appeared in: Competition of NEW GUNDAM -RED or WHITE-
  • Sales year: May 2024
  • Price including tax: 2,750 yen

Package & Accessories

Packaging and stickers. Includes foil stickers to color-code the sensors and various blue and red parts, as well as marking stickers to recreate the white lines and KARABA lettering.

The assembly instructions were in a special color.

The top one is from Ver. GFT that I assembled previously, and the bottom one is the current sticker, but the content seems to be the same except that the color of the Bandai logo on the marking sticker has changed.

Accessories include a beam rifle, two beam sabers, a shield, a right gun-holding hand, a right holding hand, left and right flat hands, and interchangeable parts for transformation.

I have some extra Delta Plus parts and MP-1E back of the hand parts.

Review

This is the completed [HGUC] Delta Gundam Unit 2. This machine originally appeared in a presentation of new MS that Anaheim gave to Karaba, shown in a dome video at Gundam Front Tokyo, the predecessor to Gundam Base Tokyo, and is a completed model of the Red Comet Char Aznable’s machine, the Hyaku Shiki.

It was sold exclusively at GFT in 2015, but has now been re-released as an event-exclusive kit available for purchase at Gundam Base and SIDE-F.

The armor, which was originally gold plated, is now molded red, and the gimmick of transforming into a Waverider using interchangeable parts is also reproduced.

The white lines in various places and the AIR FORCE lettering are reproduced with marking stickers, so the content is the same as Ver. GFT, so you can think of it as a generic Delta Gundam Unit 2!

This time, I took the opportunity to try and put all the marking stickers on!

Compared to Ver.GFT. (The one on the left without the sticker is Ver.GFT.)

The molding colors are the same and only the packaging is different, but the price has gone up by 250 yen. Fuck the yen is so cheap.

Compared to the shiny gold Delta Gundam.

In terms of design, this one is just a different color, and some parts from Delta Plus are used!

The main camera on the head can be displayed with or without twin eyes.

This time I stuck on a sticker with twin eyes that glow green.

Torso. The collarbone protrusions are color-coded with stickers.

The red armor in various places is a remnant of gold plating and is an undergate.

The wing binder on the back has the words “KARABA AIR FORCE” written on it.

There is a large Δ marking on the left shoulder of the arm.

The model number is MSN-001-2.

Hand parts include a right gun-holding hand and a right gripping hand, as well as left and right gripping hands for the MP-1E, and left and right flat hands.

Waist. The hip joints are ball joints and there are holes for the stand.

The legs are color-coded with stickers around the calf thrusters, just like the Delta Plus.

The range of motion is wide enough that you can stand on your knees beautifully!

Beam rifle. The sensor part can be color-coded with stickers, and the grip part can be stored.

The shield stores the beam saber on the back.

I made a huge mistake when sticking the sticker to the surface of the shield; if you don’t start by starting from the tip of the back of the shield, it’s incredibly difficult to adjust the position and the lines will end up being all off!

Transforms into Waverider mode. Like other HG Zeta kits, it can be transformed by replacing the entire fuselage block.

Since it is a transformation kit, it is quite sturdy and doesn’t fall apart in strange ways, which is good.

From above or below. The beam rifle can be mounted on the wing binders!

Action

Equipped with a beam rifle and shield.

Beam rifle action.

It was worth spending three times as much time as usual sticking the stickers on, as even without assembly, the overall look is compact and incredibly cool!

I’m sure Karabakh will be thrilled to hear that such an aircraft may be deployed there.

There are two beam sabers but no handle on the left hand, which is as clever as ever!

Since you can’t dual wield, you can leave it attached to the shield and make it look like a claw.

Fly in Waverider form!

When it transforms, the shield stands out and it’s obvious that I made a mistake when applying the stickers, so don’t look at it too much🤪🤪🤪

This concludes the review of the [HGUC] Delta Gundam Unit 2 !
