Package & Accessories

Package and stickers. The stickers are extremely thin and highly concealing name stickers that reproduce the color coding of each part.

The content is slightly different from the regular version.

Additionally, plastic stickers are included that can be used for the twin eyes and the light-emitting parts of the abdomen, elbows, and knees.

These stickers are thicker and harder than regular stickers, and can be selected with or without namer stickers.

These three runners have been added this time.

Accessories include a beam rifle (made by Towasanga), photon armor shield, two beam sabers, left and right flat hands, a right gun holding hand, an effect part for reflector mode, and a stand joint.

The shoulder and waist parts that were treated as extra in the regular version are treated as replacement parts.

A set of clear colored Action Base 7 is also included.

Since it is connected to a Perfect Pack, it is designed to be assembled using joint A, but it can also be assembled using other joints B to E.

Parts that have been updated from the regular version will be left over.

The red runners on the original kit, such as the abdomen and mask, have been omitted.

Review

This is the completed [HG G Reco] Gundam G-Self (Perfect Pack equipped) (Movie “Reconguista in G” Ver.) .

This is the machine piloted by the protagonist Bellri Zenam in Director Tomino’s final work, the “Gundam Reconguista in G” series. The G-Self is a Gundam Base exclusive Ver. 1.5 version of the kit released in 2015, with updated joint structure and part division.

This time I chose the plastic sticker and tried sticking stickers on all the other parts as well.

This time, it is the “Movie ‘Reconguista in G’ version,” so it reproduces the details of the twin eyes and the clear cover for the chest intake.

Improvements have been made to the head, torso, shoulders, upper arms, hip joints and backs of the knees, which has greatly improved mobility and color separation. There are still many areas that are color-coded with stickers, but extremely thin, highly concealing namer stickers have been used, so there have been many updates!

With the Perfect Pack equipped.

The pack is the same as the regular version.

By replacing the shoulder and waist armor, it is possible to recreate the normal G-Self.

However, since the PC-002③ used for the shoulder armor has already been used, you will need to bring it from somewhere else.

There are no stickers on it, but here it is lined up with the G-Self Perfect Pack equipment released in 2015.

Let’s compare the changes here!

Compared to the regular version, the blue parts of the main body and the clear blue parts are slightly lighter in color.

It just looks like Pocari Sweat now!

The head is a completely new design, with the Vulcans and yellow parts on the sides colored differently, while the light-emitting parts on the forehead and top of the head are made from clear parts.

This shows the twin eyes with plastic stickers attached, and the namer sticker also reproduces the eye details.

The area around the twin eyes will be color coded using black stickers.

The head is rounder than the original kit.

The body has clear parts fitted into the chest intake, a movable axis has been added to the shoulder joint, and the saber rack now moves on a ball axis.

There are no reused parts here either, everything is new.

The saber rack does not have a reproduced storage gimmick, but it has a lot of extra detail!

The area around the neck joint has also been updated, and the biggest change is that it now moves with the yellow base part and there’s no longer a strange gap when looking up.

The number of joints has also been increased in the abdomen, allowing it to move forward more freely!

Fine details are sculpted even in the clear parts on the chest and abdomen.

The back is also newly sculpted, but the connection holes are the same as before, so you can also attach the atmospheric pack!

The upper blue section and yellow duct of the shoulder armor have been updated to separate parts, improving color separation.

The red lightning bolt mark and the surrounding white area are stickers, just like the regular version.

The shape of the upper arm parts has also changed, allowing the elbows to bend more freely!

The hand parts are the same as the regular version, and include left and right gripping hands, a flat hand, and a right gun-holding hand.

The white parts of the back of the hand are color-coded with stickers.

The exterior around the waist is the same as the regular version.

The hip joint axis can slide up and down separately on the left and right.

However, when you connect the stand to the hip joint, it gets pushed back slightly upwards.

I think the range of the legs can be expanded by sliding the axis down, but the V-shaped movement of the legs opening like in Katoki stance doesn’t seem to change much.

There are also a lot of stickers stuck on the legs, and the texture of the Namer stickers is great as they stick nicely.

The light-emitting parts on the back of the knees can also be recreated with plastic stickers!

The space behind the knee has been increased, improving the range of motion of the knee.

The soles of the feet remain the same as the regular version, leaving a lot of hollowing out.

Comes with a Doyakonga beam rifle.

This is the same as the regular version, so detailed painting is required.

The white parts of the photon armor shield are newly sculpted, and the yellow lines on the surface remain the same color as the sticker, but the back side features details that were not present on the regular version.

The thickness of the front part has also been increased, creating a three-dimensional shape.

The Perfect Pack, which combines the functionality of all previous backpacks, has the same design as the regular version, with only the color of the clear parts changed.

The arms allow you to move the left and right units around, allowing you to recreate reflector mode and assault mode!

Action

First movement with normal G-Self!

Action with G-Self without a pack!

I’m sure the great Baldy must be delighted from beyond his grave to have a kit like this released on this milestone 10th anniversary of G Reco…

Equipped with the Perfect Pack.

Perfect pack flight!

You can attach a stand joint to the pack so you can display it!

Bellri fires his beam rifle!

Thanks to the increased range of motion around the shoulders, you can get into a perfect pose!

The joints of the photon armor shield remain a simple C-shape.

The saber rack on the shoulder is now on a ball axis, so it can get in the way when you pose it and can easily fall off.

The beam sabers come with two thin effect pieces.

Use Photon Torpedo!

Fire up the traffic fin!

The stand is stuck into it to force it to float.

Deploy the units to the left and right and point the traffic fins forward to recreate assault mode!

Recreate the reflector mode by attaching clear part effects!

For the effect, the connection shaft was loose so I made it thicker.

This concludes the review of [HG G Reco] Gundam G-Self (Perfect Pack equipped) (Movie “Reconguista in G” Ver.) !
