This time, it’s a review of the “GUNDAM OPERATION V” from HGUC!
From “MOBILE SUIT GUNDAM”, I would like to review the “Gundam Operation V Set”, a special set of 3 RX series mobile suits developed by the Earth Federation Forces Operation V, which has appeared in Gunpla HGUC!

Here is the package and attached seal.Since it is a 3-machine set kit, the box is thick and comes with marking stickers that can reproduce the emblems of the Earth Federation Forces and the White Base Corps.
The kit itself is a collection of Gundam, Guncannon, and Guntank that were three-dimensionalized in the early stages of HGUC, but the assembly instructions are all in one book, and the assembly instructions are for all three units. There was also a diorama photo that reproduced the commentary on the strategy and the battle scene with the Zeon army.
Let’s start with this RX-75 Guntank. It was a kit of HGUC No.007 released in 2000 with a different molding color, and there were no stickers or accessories. In the anime, it is a double-seat aircraft that Ryu and Hayato were riding, and unlike other MS, it does not walk on two legs but runs on caterpillars.
It’s based on an old kit, but because of its simple design, the parts are divided and color-coded to some extent, so I think the unassembled kit will be close to the setting picture.
The head is a cockpit for gunners, and the pilot is also sculpted inside, although it is simple. The visor is reproduced with clear parts, and if you look closely, it doesn’t fit properly.
The chest intake is color-coded with yellow parts, and the blue armor such as the torso seems to have a brighter molding color than the original kit. Both arms are equipped with 40mm quadruple pop missile launchers, and the shoulders and elbows can be moved to create firing poses.
Equipped with 120mm low recoil cannons on both shoulders. Since it is divided into left and right, there is a seam in the center. This is also a swing movable type, and you can take a projectile posture.
A simple cylindrical backpack. The slits that look like multiple plates in the thruster section are also modeled as a single part.
The lower body is a caterpillar, not two legs like other MS. The caterpillar was a soft part, and it was fixed and could not be rotated. Wheels are also reproduced with separate parts one by one.
Next is the Guncannon, but the seal will be a reproduction of this visor.
Accessories include a beam rifle, a spray missile launcher, and a flat hand for lying down poses.
This is a surplus part, but it came with an old-fashioned polycap hand part that you don’t see at all these days. It seems that the V Gundam series of the old kit was this hand part.
And this will be the completed Guncannon. It seems to be the color variation of the memorable first kit of the HGUC series released in 1999, and the red armor of the whole body seems to be a dark red molding color.
Guncannon was renewed as a revive version in 2015, so it may be difficult to obtain this old type kit.
The head is much larger than the revive version. The two antennas on the back of the head are separate parts, and the visor is colored with a metallic color sticker.
The fuselage has a simple color scheme, so to some extent it is color-coded by dividing the parts. The shoulder joint is an old-fashioned single shaft type.
The elbow joint of the arm is also a shaft joint type that I used to fold when I was a child. Hand parts include palms for lying down poses, and the left palm and right hand are gun-holding hands only.
Compared to the revive version of the backpack, the ducts on both sides seem to have changed from round to hexagonal.
Equipped with 240mm low recoil cannons on both shoulders. This is also swing movable with the same structure as the gun tank. Since it is divided into left and right, there is a seam.
In addition, the old version of Guncannon comes with a spray missile launcher. This is not included in the revive version, so the old version wins.
The side armor is divided into front and rear armor, and the front armor is an old-fashioned shaft type that can not be separated from the left and right.
The legs are divided left and right from the thighs to the front legs, but the parts other than the knees are molded in steps. Gimmicks such as hand grenades were not reproduced.
The third body is RX-78-2 Gundam. Comes with the same sticker as HGUC No.21 released in 2001.
The accessories are the same as No.21 Gundam, beam rifle, hyper bazooka, shield, beam saber x2, right gun handle, bazooka mount parts, core fighter.
This Core Fighter is a core block system installed to ensure the data collection of the educational computer installed in the RX series. By transforming the core block system separated from the main body, it becomes this core fighter. Like the Gundam, the Core Fighter also changed the molding color from the No.21 version, and since it is only red and blue, it needs to be reproduced with fine painting.
And here is the RX-78-2 Gundam. A mobile suit of the Earth Allied Forces, in which Amuro Ray appeared after it was brought into Side 7 and then attacked by a special unit led by Major Char. Since the contents are the same as HGUC No.21 Gundam, I would like to review it briefly.
Detail of the head and torso. The blue part of the body is a bright molding color. The twin eye and forehead sensors can be colored with stickers, and the Vulcan and neck joints can be painted.
Two beam sabers are mounted on the backpack. The beam saber can be pulled out, and the backpack has a shaft hole for mounting the shield.
Around the lower body. The yellow squares on the front and rear armor are color-coded, but the Federation V mark needs to be painted. There are joints on the shins and calves, but the knees are separate parts, making it easy to paint the ducts.
Using the EX model Gundam trailer to reproduce what looks like a side 7 battle. I also wanted an EX model Gunperry.
Reproduce the hangar in the white base using the Gundam base limited MS hanger. It’s a very useful item because it looks like it just by arranging it properly!
Action with Gundam, Guncannon, and Guntank. After all, it’s a very early HG kit, so it doesn’t move much and I’m a little scared that I might break the shaft joint. There is no stand hole, so a U-shaped joint is required.
Action with Guncannon and Guntank. Guntank is sold at Yodobashi Camera on New Year’s and New Year’s Day, but Guncannon has a revived version, so I wonder if the early old version is already out of print?
The last is Gundam and Core Fighter. I just watched First Gundam again, but Amuro is too strong!
